Monochrome CMOS camera for microscope
The CMOS Camera to be replaced is integral to the computer controlled microscope system that has been in use for over 10 years. The software that controls the microscope is from MBF Bioscience and the camera must be adapted to be controlled by that software. As the software is proprietary to MBF they are the only company that made the necessary adaptations.
To be compatible with the existing microscope system requires some modification by MBF. In addition, the image acquisition and processing software will be upgraded to include functions that are not currently in the existing software. These functions include more accurate stitching and blending of tiles, flat field correction and filters.

Salient characteristics
• High resolution backside illuminated sCMOS sensor with 95% QE
• 2048 x 2048 pixels with 6.5 x 6.5 pixel area
• 18.8mm diagonalsensor,
• forced air cooling, extremely low read noise, up to 95fps(11-bit)
• enhanced dynamic range. USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface

Single-Sole Source Determination
The Teledyne Photometrics Prime BSI Express CMOS camera controlled by MBF Neurolucida software listed herein is available from only one source, and competition is precluded for the reasons indicated below.

The camera to be replaced is integral to the computer controlled microscope system that has been in use for 20 years. The software that controls the microscope is from MBF Bioscience and the camera must be adapted to be controlled by that software. As the software is proprietary to MBF they are the only company that made the necessary adaptations.

The existing software used on our microscope imaging systems is manufactured and distributed solely by MBF Bioscience and they are the only ones who can modify that software to provide the requested upgrades to the system.
